Today's animal collectors demand ever more exotic specimens; this is fuelling an epidemic of animal theft. Zoo theft was unheard of 5 years ago and now 40% of zoos across Europe report animals stolen. Primates are most in demand with exotic birds coming a close second. But, with penguins and lions listed amongst the victims, no animal is safe. |
