British Transport Police has discovered three cannabis farms in arches in Love Lane, Liverpool L3.

Two of the farms, one with over 100 plants growing and the second that had been partially stripped out, were uncovered yesterday, Wednesday, 10 September 2008.

The third, with more than 100 plants being grown hydroponically and described as one of the most sophisticated operations to have been found in Merseyside, was found last June. Since then BTP has been working with railway authorities leading to the latest finds.

‘We have been able to collect some good forensic evidence which is now being analysed,' said Detective Inspector Nigel Goodband.

‘We are working with the rail businesses on this inquiry, but would also like to hear from anyone who knows anything about these farms to contact us.'

Anyone with information can contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
