  • Horse suffers repeated injuries from unknown cause: Houndscroft, Rodborough

    Police are investigating after a horse at stables in Houndscroft, Rodborough suffered minor injuries to its legs three times over the last two weeks.

    At the end of last week the horses' owner reported to that between Tuesday July 13 and Friday July 23 her horse, a 12-year-old Welsh cob, had suffered cuts to the front of both of its legs near to the ankle joint.

  • Two hives damaged leaving bees exposed: Oakley

    Officers from the Oakley Safer Neighbourhoods Team are appealing for witnesses and information after beehives in the village were damaged.

    On Thursday, July 15 and Saturday, July 17, two hives in St John's Copse were pushed over.

    The stands were damaged and the bees were exposed.

  • Calf dies following cattle stampede in suspicious barn fire: Park Farm, Maddiston

    Police are appealing for information from the public after a calf died following a barn fire.

    The incident took place at 7pm on Friday July 16 at Park Farm, Maddiston, near Falkirk.

    Cattle were being kept in the ground floor area of the barn when a fire broke out in the upper level.

  • Cat's leg shattered by air gun pellet: Narborough

    Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a pet cat from Narborough was shot.

    The incident happened sometime between Friday July 9 and 5.30pm on Sunday July 11, when the cat, called Tabby, returned to its home in Greenwich Close, Narborough.

    Tabby's owners soon noticed that he was unwell and took him to the vets.

    Police in Northallerton are hunting whoever is responsible for deliberately wounding a horse on Tannery Lane in the town.

  • Men set bull terrier on cat and finish it by stamping on its head: Hartlepool

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a cat was savaged in a seemingly deliberate attack from a dog and a group of youths.

    At 12.30am on Friday 16th July 2010, a group of men wearing black hooded tops were seen walking a black Staffordshire bull terrier along St Bees Walk, Hartlepool.

  • RSPCA seizes dogs of burns victim: Blagdon, Paignton

    At 5.00pm on Friday 16th July, Police and the Ambulance service were called to a report of a male having been injured in a fire at an address in Blagdon, Paignton.

    On arrival a male was found suffering from burns having apparently set fire to himself whilst lighting a bonfire using accelerant in the garden of the property.

  • Alpaca suffers flesh wound in dog attack: Minchinhampton

    Stroud Police are currently investigating reports that a dog injured two alpacas at an address in Minchinhampton.

    At around 6pm on Tuesday July 13 a dog jumped over the wall at an address in Windmill Road and injured the two animals, one of which had to be taken to the vet to be treated for a flesh wound.

  • 72-year-old arrested after dog worries sheep in Martin Down Nature Reserve: Fordingbridge

    A 72-year-old woman from Salisbury has been cautioned by police after allowing her dog to attack sheep at Martin Down Nature Reserve in Fordingbridge.

    Officers from the Country Watch team received a complaint after the woman had twice allowed her dog to roam free on agricultural land at the nature reserve.

    Officers from West Mercia Police have executed warrants at four properties in Warndon, Worcester, this morning (Thursday 8 July) in relation to dangerous dogs offences.

    Two properties in Cranham Drive, one in Tolladine Road and one in Swaledale Court were all entered around 8.45am.

    Police are investigating an incident of badger digging on the edge of farmland in South Derbyshire.

    A local badger group contacted the police with information about the dig near to Bellington Farm at Thulston on June 8th 2010.

    The sett had been dug eight feet down to its chamber and its thought badgers may have been removed.

    Northumbria Police is appealing for information after rare birds were confirmed as being poisoned in West Northumberland.

    In February officers were called to a report of two dead Red Kites found on farmland in the Steel area of Hexham.

  • Man kicks dog and threatens teenage owner: Russell Howard Park, South Ham

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man kicked the dog of a 16-year-old girl in a Basingstoke park.

    She and her pet were walking through Russell Howard Park, South Ham, when at around 3pm, Thursday, June 24, they passed by the man.

    He too had a dog which bit hers on the lip.

  • One of two cats shot with air rifle dies: Camberley

    Surrey Police is appealing for information following the despicable shooting of two cats in the Camberley area.

    One of the cats died as a result of their injuries, which are thought to have been caused by an air rifle.

    The young male Bombay cat was discovered by their owner in their garden on Thursday morning (17 June).

  • Latest victim of horse stabbing needs 20 stitches: Badshot Lea

    The incident took place in a field in Badshot Farm Lane between 4 and 5am on Saturday (June 19).

    A vet had to be called after the mare was found with a stab wound requiring 20 stitches which appeared to have been caused by a bladed instrument.
