    European Eagle Owl at large after escaping from enclosure: Swindon

    At approximately 9pm on Sunday 7th March 2010, Wiltshire Police received a report that a European Eagle Owl had escaped from its enclosure at a private address in Lower Stratton, Swindon.

    The owl is approximately 3 foot tall and resembles the one pictured.

  • Reported sighting of 'large snake' in undergrowth: Lingswood

    Police were called today (Tuesday 9 March) at approximately 9.30am to a reported sighting of what is believed to be a large snake in the undergrowth at Lingswood, Northampton.

    It is believed the snake may be a green Burmese Python and several feet long.

    Baby giant African tortoises stolen from shop: Ipswich

    St Margarets Street, Ipswich between 3pm and 5pm Monday 22.02.10.

    A pet shop was entered and two live rare infant grey/brown giant African tortoises stolen from a secure glass tank.

  • Theft of large white ferret along with ferret box: Rushden

    A green-house at a property in Irchester Road, Rushden, was broken into between 4pm on Monday 15 February and 4pm on Tuesday 16 February.

    A large white adult ferret was stolen, along with a ferret box.

    Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222.

  • Nurse and patient bitten as dogs run amok in hospital grounds: Middlesbrough

    A nurse and an in-patient are today recovering from minor dog bites after an incident in the grounds of James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough yesterday (Sunday 14th February).

    At around 6.45am police received a call from hospital security staff reporting three Rottweiler dogs were running around the hospital grounds.

  • Owners report plaits appearing in horses manes: Derwentside

    Horse owners are being urged to be vigilant after reports of suspicious activity involving animals in Derwentside.

    Early last month police received two reports of plaits mysteriously appearing in the manes of horses in fields at farms in Edmundbyers, near Consett.

  • Six pedigree dogs taken by robbers with Irish accents: Barrow Road, Quorn

    Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of six dogs that were stolen from a premises in Barrow Road, Quorn.

    At about 1pm yesterday (Monday February 8) officers received a call informing them of the robbery after an occupant of the premises discovered three men attempting to take the dogs.

    Chapel Street, Bildeston at around 11.30am 30/01/10.

    A six year old black miniature long haired dachshund called Penny has gone missing from a garden at a house, police are looking into the possibility she may have been stolen.

  • Five chickens stolen from allotments: Shotley Gate

    Main Road, Shotley Gate between 1pm 23/01/10 and 6.30am 24/01/10.

    Offenders have broken into a shed on an allotment by forcing the lock and stolen five chickens.

  • 3 Staffordshire bull terrier puppies stolen from litter of 8: Hemlington

    Police are urging anyone who has been offered any Staffordshire bull terrier puppies for sale to get in touch with them as they may have been stolen.

  • 11-week-old puppy missing: Bungay

    An 11-week old puppy - described as tan in colour with a white chest and similar to a Bull Mastiff - went missing from an address in Albion Road in Bungay around 7pm - 7.30pm yesterday, Thursday 14 January.

    At this stage the disappearance is being treated as a possible theft and police are keen to trace two men who visited the address around this time.

  • Reward offered for the return of Hamish the dog: Rugby

    The owner of a dog believed to have been stolen from outside Tower Farm Saddlers in Barby Lane, Barby, near Rugby, has offered a considerable cash reward for information leading to the safe return of the dog and prosecution of the offender.

    It is believed the dog was taken from outside the shop on Sunday 20 December at about 10.45am.

  • Shetland ponies stolen from stables: Romsley, Halesowen

    Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the theft of three Shetland ponies from stables at Romsley, near Halesowen.

    The ponies were taken after thieves damaged a gate to gain access to a field off Uffmoor Lane between 1pm on Monday (December 28) and 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday, December 29) and then broke into the stables.

    Have you been offered a lizard for sale in the past few days or has someone you know suddenly acquired one?

    Police are appealing for information after a break-in at a home in Norwich Road between 1pm on Christmas Eve, Thursday 24, and 10.50am on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December, in which the sandy-beige coloured six-inch long lizard was among the items taken.
