    Stolen kittens posted through owner's letterbox: Jaywick

    Thieves who burgled a house and stole several kittens have returned them following a police appeal.

    Thieves broke into a property on Essex Avenue in Jaywick between 10pm on Thursday, July 22 and 2am on Friday, July 23 and stole some jewellery and five one-day-old kittens.

    Detectives appealed for their return as they would die without their mother.

  • Seven hundred and fifty Japanese Green Pheasants stolen: Kingston Lisle

    Thieves stole approximately 750 Second Generation Japanese Greens from a pen on the Lonsdale Estate overnight between Sunday and Monday this week (18/7 to 19/7).

    Officers believe the pheasants, which are small and less than six months old, were stolen to order.

  • Tortoise found on the Honeybourne Line: Cheltenham

    A member of the public has reported finding a tortoise on the Honeybourne Line in Cheltenham.

    The animal was found yesterday - Monday July 12 - by a dog walker.

    Anyone who has lost a pet tortoise and would like to see if the animal found is theirs should ring police on 0845 090 1234.

  • Two chickens stolen from allotment hen house: Debenham

    Priory Lane, Debenham between 7pm 09/07/10 and 5pm 10/07/10.

    Two white Light Sussex hens have been stolen from a hen house on an allotment.

    Calls in relation to this incident should be made to Sgt Nick Emerick at the Mid Suffolk Central Safer Neighbourhood Team on 01284 774100.

  • Three guinea pigs stolen from garden: Danbury Crescent, South Ockendon

    The suspects climbed a wall to gain access to the garden and took three male guinea pigs from their hutch, worth an estimated £100, between 1am and 11am on Sunday, June 20.

  • 6-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog stolen from garden: Buttars Loan, Dundee

    Officers in Dundee are investigating the unusual theft of a dog from the garden of a house in Buttars Loan.

    Sometime between 11am and 3.30pm on Wednesday 16 June thieves made off with a 6-month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog.

  • Appeal to man who picked up lost Chiuahua: A45, Upper Weedon

    Police are appealing for a man who picked up a missing dog to contact them.

    The two and a half year old Chiuahua named Coco, escaped from the rear of the the owners house and was spotted being picked up by a man and put in his car on the A45 near to the turn for Everdon/Upper Weedon.

  • Rabbit stolen: Randall Road, Northampton

    Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a rabbit, which occurred in the Randall Road area, Northampton, between 10.15am and 4.20pm on Saturday 19 June.

    The offender(s) entered the garden of the property and removed the rabbit from the hutch.

  • Large silver and gold Koi carp stolen: Links Avenue, Mablethorpe

    Police are appealing for witnesses to a theft that occurred overnight between 13 and 14 June at an address in Links Avenue, Mablethorpe.

    The offender gained access to a neighbour's garden then leaned over a broken fence in order to steal a large silver and gold Koi carp fish.

  • Tortoise stolen from rear garden: Broadley Crescent, Louth

    Police are appealing for information after a tortoise was stolen from the rear garden of a house in Broadley Crescent between 10.30am and 9pm on Saturday 5 June.

    The tortoise is between 80 and 100 years old and approx 12" long.

    Anyone with information should contact PC Rob McGhee at Louth Police Station on 0300 111 0300.

  • Blue and gold macaw stolen: Maltby Road, Beesby

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a blue and gold macaw was stolen from an address in Maltby Road, Beesby.

    Between 10pm on Saturday 12 June and 7am on Sunday 13 June, the offender broke the locks off aviaries in the garden of the property, stealing the macaw and attempting to steal a white cockatoo which escaped.

    City and Holbeck CID are appealing to trace two dogs stolen in a burglary in Robin Hood recently.

    Paddy and Chip are two year-old springer spaniel brothers who were stolen from their kennel at Thorpe Lower Lane, Robin Hood, at around 1.50am on Wednesday, 9 June, after offenders forced entry into the garage and also stole a pedal cycle.

  • Three ferrets and box stolen from garden: Cowcombe Hill, Chalford

    Police are investigating the theft of three ferrets from an address on Cowcombe Hill near Chalford, Stroud earlier this week.

    Three white female ferrets and a blue wooden ferret carrier box were stolen from the garden of the property between midday on Monday June 7 and 8am on Tuesday June 8.

  • Five horses die running loose on roads: Co. Durham

    Five horses have died after running loose on roads including the A1(M) in County Durham.

    Police said 19 horses escaped from a field next to stables in Nunstainton near Bishop Auckland just after midnight last night (1 June) when a gate was apparently forced and left open.

  • 40 chickens stolen from allotment: Upper Terrace, Ferndale

    Police in the Rhondda are investigating the theft of 40 chickens from an allotment.

    The chickens were stolen when their coop at the allotments in Upper Terrace, Ferndale, was broken into sometime overnight between Sunday and Monday.
