  • Children's slide damaged in suspicious fire at caravan park: Stonehaven

    Grampian Police are making enquiry into a suspicious fire that occurred around 2:20am on Thursday 29 July 2010 to a children's slide at the Queen Elizabeth Caravan Park, Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.

    Grampian Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire and considerable damage was caused to the slide.

    The exact value of the damage is yet to be established.

  • 'Malicious' fire destroys home: Lodge Nursery, Mugdock

    Police in Stirling are appealing for information following a fire which destroyed a house in Mugdock, near Milngavie.

    The incident occurred around 1.45am on Wednesday July 21 when fire was seen at Lodge Nursery.

    The building was completely destroyed by the blaze and police are keen to hear from anybody who may have information.

  • Petrol used to set grass on fire outside Guildford Cathedral: Surrey

    Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward following an incident of arson outside Guildford Cathedral on Sunday (25 July) evening.

    The fire, which Surrey Fire and Rescue Service say could easily have spread to nearby residential buildings, was started on a grass area to the side of the cathedral, sometime between 7pm and 8pm.

  • Calf dies following cattle stampede in suspicious barn fire: Park Farm, Maddiston

    Police are appealing for information from the public after a calf died following a barn fire.

    The incident took place at 7pm on Friday July 16 at Park Farm, Maddiston, near Falkirk.

    Cattle were being kept in the ground floor area of the barn when a fire broke out in the upper level.

  • Appeal as hedgerow fire damages conifer and leylandii trees: Lowestoft

    Police are appealing for information after a fire in a hedgerow at College Meadows around 12.50pm yesterday, Tuesday 20 July.

    The blaze was spotted by a police officer who was in the area at the time and the fire service were alerted.

    Damage was caused to conifer and leylandii trees as well as the plastic guttering of a nearby home.

  • Front porch damaged by burning wheelie bin: Farnworth

    Shortly after 10pm on Wednesday 21 July 2010, police were called to a house on Campbell Court following reports of a fire.

    Officers attended the scene and found a wheelie bin standing against the front of the house had been set alight.

    The fire service made the scene safe and nobody was inside.

  • One man dead as police investigate two unconnected fires: Birmingham

    Police in Birmingham are investigating two unconnected fires which happened in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 20 July).

    In the first incident, police were alerted at 4.15am by the ambulance service to a house door on fire in Whitehead Road, Aston.

    When officers arrived, fire crews had extinguished the fire and evacuated the family of four.

  • Wheelie bin cupboard torched: Hemlington

    Police are asking for information after a deliberate fire at a man's house in Hemlington.

    A wheelie bin cupboard in a recess near the front door of the Cresswell Close house was set alight at around 11pm on Saturday night (17th July).

    The Fire Brigade attended and extinguished the blaze which was started as the 22 year old man was inside the house with his partner.

  • Suspicious fire in outbuilding of Cam House School: Drake Lane, Cam

    Police are currently investigating a fire in an unused building at a school in Cam.

    The Fire Service and police officers were called to Cam House School on Drake Lane at around midday yesterday, Tuesday July 13, after staff discovered a fire in an unused and empty building on the school site.

  • Wheelie bin near to gas box set alight: Wollaton

    Police are appealing for information from the public after an arson at an address in Wollaton on Monday 12 July.

    A wheelie bin was set alight near to a gas box at the property in Kirkdale Close.

    Firefighters were called to the scene around 10.05pm.

    No one was injured and no other bins were set alight.

  • Primary school play equipment set alight: Aberdeen

    Grampian Police are investigating a fire in the grounds of an Aberdeen Primary School.

    The incident occurred about 4:30 pm on Tuesday 13 July 2010 at Quarryhill Primary School, Birkhall Parade, Aberdeen.

    During the incident a wooden fence and items of play equipment were set alight and it is estimated that the cost of the damage will amount to approximately £2,000.

    A large rain shelter was left smouldering where it appears to have been set alight.

    A caravan has been set alight on a hardstanding, also damaging fencing and a muck heap.

    An astroturf cricket wicket at a school has been damaged by fire.
