  • Murder enquiry launched after man dies at scene of possible burglary: Barnehurst

    A murder investigation has been launched following a death in Bexleyheath.

    Police were called at approximately 22:25hrs on Wednesday 25 January following a burglary at an address in Barnehurst.

    At approximately 22.00hrs the suspects entered a residential address, tied up the two occupants and stole some of their property.

    The robbery happened at a house on The Avenue, Sale, at about 6.30pm on 3 January 2012.

    A gang of three men came in through the front door and confronted the 18-year-old in the hallway.

    The young girl was grabbed around the throat by one of the men who was also brandishing a meat cleaver above his head.

    It is reported that a 78-year-old woman disturbed intruders into her home.

    It is said she was assaulted and left with head injuries.

    She was taken to hospital and later discharged.

    Detectives investigating the murder of a pensioner in his Chittering home have released details of four watches that were stolen from the house.

    Llywelyn Thomas, 76, was murdered at his home in Ely Road on the evening of Saturday, December 17.

    Now officers have identified several valuable items that may have been stolen from the house.

    They searched a number of rooms and when confronted by the occupant, a 53-year-old woman, and her daughter-in-law, took the two women into a kitchen.

    Police in Derby are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a house on Nottingham Road, Chaddesden that happened last night (Monday November 28).

    At around 7pm two men knocked at the door of a house and then barged their way into the premises.

    The couple who own the house were threatened and the intruders demanded property.
