  • Two beauty salons targeted by thieves: Bedlington

    Police in Bedlington are asking the public to be vigilant after two beauty salons have been targeted by thieves over the last couple of days.

    Between 12pm Monday, February 22, and 10am on Tuesday, February 23, someone broke into the Vanity beauty salon, in Ravensworth Terrace, making off with items of jewellery.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was taken to hospital following a burglary at her home.

    Airedale and North Bradford CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at a flat on Avering Cliff in Thorpe Edge on Tuesday February 16.

  • Resident beats back burglar with broom: Cowbit Road, Spalding

    Police are appealing for information after a man tried to break into a house in Spalding.

    This incident took place at about 4.15pm in Cowbit Road, Spalding, on February 10.

    A thief climbed over a wall at the back of a house using a plank of wood as a ramp.

    He then climbed onto a sloping roof and smashed a window.

  • Bogus ‘church visitor' attempts robbery of elderly man: Timperley

    A man tricked his way into a pensioner's home in Timperley.

    At about 5pm on Tuesday 26 January 2010, the 77-year-old victim was at his home on Green Walk when there was a knock at the door.

    He answered it and a man asked to come in.

    The pensioner refused, but he pushed past him and then said he was from a church.

    Further to a previous appeal for information regarding an attempted burglary which occurred in Marlborough an E fit of the suspect has now been produced.

    The incident occurred on Saturday 19th December 2009 between 6:30 and 7:30 pm at a property in Edwards Meadow, Marlborough whilst the owners were out.

    The incident happened around 9.40pm in Yule Terrace, Blackburn.

    The female occupant of the house returned to find the male leaving the property.

    Police have released the image of a man they are trying to trace in connection with an attempted burglary at an address on Winchester Avenue in Blaby.

    The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Monday January 11, when two men were seen attempting to break into the property through a back door.

    A dog flap was torn off the bottom of a door at a home in Waveney Crescent between 12.30pm and 3.15pm on Thursday 7 January.

    The flap was left in the garden of the property.

    Two men tried to con an elderly woman in Littleborough.

    Around 4pm on Thursday 7 January 2010, the 76-year-old victim was at home on Shore Hill when a man knocked at the door.

    A man claiming to be from British Gas asked to check her meter as there was 'going to be an explosion'.

  • Attempted break-in at coin operated jet wash: Brechin Industrial Estate

    In Brechin, police are investigating an attempted break-in to a coin operated jet wash machine at Brechin Industrial Estate in Montrose Road.

    They particularly want to trace a man who was seen cycling up to the jet wash, at Ron Mackie Cars Ltd, on the estate, at about 9pm on Friday (Jan 8).

  • Householder alerted to intruder by dogs: Spilsby

    Police are appealing for further sightings of a man wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary, carried out at an address in Pooles Lane, Spilsby around 4.00pm yesterday afternoon, Thursday 7 January.

    The 28-year old male occupant was upstairs when he heard his dogs growling downstairs.

  • Burglar finds himself in the doghouse: Arundel Street, Portsmouth

    At around 5am on Wednesday, December 30 a family were asleep at their home on Arundel Street, Portsmouth when they were woken by a loud bang and the sound of their dogs barking.

    The victim went into the living room of her home where she disturbed a man.

    The man then ran out of the house empty handed via the back door, which had been forced open.

    The Street, Stanton between 12.30pm and 3.20pm 07/01/10.

    Offenders have gained entry to a church and damaged a table, decorations and the organ.
