A woman is urging other pet owners to be alert after she had to have her cat put down after it came home with injuries to its front paws.
The woman contacted police last week to report the incident as it's thought the animal may have got its paws caught in a trap.

My little black and white cat was shot with a pellet gun in the face.
She is currently undergoing surgery to remove her eye and the vet is assessing if the pellet can be removed from her brain or not.
I am outraged that this happened in our local area of Cygnet Fold, Mansfield Woodhouse.
The incident happened sometime on Thursday July 9.
The owner let Pebbles, a grey and white cat, out of the house on South Street at around 4pm.
When the cat returned to the house later that evening at 10pm, the owner found it to be unwell.
