£100,000 miniature paintings and china taken in burglary: Shipton under Wychwood

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a burglary at a property in Shipton under Wychwood where thieves stole more than £100,000 of property.

Some time between 10.15pm on Friday (21/5) and 9.25am on Saturday (22/5) burglars forced their way into the house in High Street.

Once inside the property, the burglars have stolen approximately 50 miniature paintings and some china.

The total value of the property is estimated to be more than £100,000.

Det Sgt Dick White said:

"A black Vauxhall Astra with a rear spoiler was seen in the area around the time of the burglary.

"The car had at least two occupants, and the driver is described as having a large build.

"I would like to speak with anyone who may have seen this incident, or who has information about this burglary.

"Given the amount of items taken, they may have used a vehicle of some sort to transport the items away from the scene.

"Perhaps you saw a suspicious vehicle in the area?"

Anyone with information about this incident should contact Det Sgt White via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
