Police in Stroud are appealing to local residents for information after a pet cat was shot with pellets in the Barrowfield Road area of the town.
Jasper, a ginger tom cat, was injured at some time during the evening of Friday March 5 in open land at the back Barrowfield Road.
It's thought that he was shot with two pellets.
He was found injured in his owner's garden at approximately 9.45pm.
Jasper suffered a fracture to his leg and wounds to his chest and back.
He was taken to the vets and underwent treatment before his owners were able to take him home to recover from his serious injuries.
