Police are appealing for information after a pet cat was shot with what is believed to have been an air rifle.

The incident is believed to have occurred at some point between Wednesday 12 May and Friday, 11 June, with the pellet becoming lodged in the cats neck.

The owner noticed a small lump but when this became bigger the cat was taken to the vet and the pellet was found and removed.
