Grand pianos stolen from United Reformed Church: St Albans

PoliceĀ are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of two grand pianos from the United Reformed Church on Homewood Road, St Albans.

The incident took place between 12.30pm on Sunday, January 31 and 3.30pm on Monday, February 1 when offender(s) entered the building and removed two pianos that had been delivered earlier in the day.

Investigating officer DC Andy Boyer, said:

"The two stolen pianos were extremely large and would have needed a number of people to manoeuvre them out of the building and into a lorry or van.

"Specialist equipment may also have been needed to remove them from the building and load them onto a vehicle.

"I am therefore appealing for witnesses who may have seen any suspicious behaviour or vehicles in the area during the specified times to get in contact as soon as possible.

"I would also be interested to speak to anyone who may have been offered a grand piano for sale."

Anyone with information can contact DC Boyer on the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
