Police are appealing for witnesses after hundreds of pheasants were stolen from a farm in West Tisted overnight between Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13.

Sometime between 11pm on Friday and 7.15am on Saturday 300 to 350 pheasants worth around £2,000 were stolen from a barn at the Manor Farm Estate.

PC Peter Wilkinson, of the Alton Targeted Patrol Team, said:

"A large vehicle would have been required to transport these birds and it would have taken at least two hours to load them up.

"We want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Friday night or anyone with information about the theft."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Wilkinson at Alton police station on 0845 045 4545 or 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
