At around 2pm on Wednesday 5th of May a Leyland DAF wagon, registration R991 GHS was stolen from a lay-by near to the old 'Hare and Hounds' public house on the A177 between Sedgefield and Coxhoe.

The vehicle contained specialised cutting tools including two Stihl cutting saws valued at approximately £1000 each.

All green in colour, it displays the words 'Colin White Tree Surgeons of Hexham' on each side.

The vehicle occupants were working in a nearby field and have been working in the area for the last six months.
