Police are appealing for information after two goats were stolen from a smallholding in Shedfield.

At some time between 3pm on Friday, November 13 and 4pm on Monday, November 16 the two brown Nigerian pygmy goats were stolen from land on a small holding on Blackhorse Lane, Shedfield.

PC Jon Radcliffe, Countryside and Wildlife Crime officer, said:

"These animals are of little monetary value but are family pets and the owners have been left very upset by this incident.

"Theft of livestock does occur, particularly towards the Festive season.

"I would encourage anyone with pets or livestock to get them microchipped.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or anyone who knows of where the animals currently are, to get in touch with as at the earliest opportunity."

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of these animals, that are family pets, they should contact the police on 0845 045 4545 or 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
