Police are appealing for information after a cat was shot with an air gun in Alnwick.

On Monday, March 8, officers received a report from a member of the public whose cat had been shot with an air gun.

The owner of the Persian cat noticed it was behaving strangely and took it to the vets where they found a pellet lodged into its hip.

The pellet was removed by the vet and the cat survived.

This resulted in an expensive vet's bill for the owner.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about anyone using air weapons in the Cawledge View area of Alnwick to contact them on 03456 043 043.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
