Three geese have been stolen from an allotment in north Norfolk.

Sheringham police are looking for witnesses or information regarding the theft of three geese from allotments in Coast Road at Salthouse near Holt.

The geese had been kept fenced in at the allotments for more than 20 years and were of great sentimental value to the owner.

There is no evidence to suggest that they were taken by a fox and disappeared between 7am and 11am on Monday.

A police spokesman said:

"They are described as very large white geese, about the size of a swan, with one having some black feathers.

"The owner describes them as distinctive with no resale value."

Anyone with information is urged to call the police on 0845 456 4567.
