Police are appealing for witnesses after three teenagers were robbed and assaulted in Chalton yesterday afternoon (Saturday, 17th April).
It happened between 4pm and 5.30pm at Sundon Pitt when there was a confrontation between two groups of teenagers.
The offenders approached a group of teenages on their motor cross bikes and asked if they could have a go and the boys refused.
They were then threatened with knives and assaulted, before the offenders made off on three motor cross bikes.
One teenager, aged 20, was hit in the face with a crash helmet causing a fractured cheekbone and suffered a stab wound to his thigh and arm.
He was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital where his condition is not thought to be life threatening and will be transferred to the Royal Free today.
The other, aged 16, suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Another teenager handed over his bike when he saw a knife produced and was unhurt.
The five offenders fled the scene on the three stolen motor cross bikes along the pitt and towards Sundon Park.

It is believed there was also a fifth man involved but his description is unknown.
DS Louisa Glynn said:
"This was a nasty, unprovoked assault, one of the teenagers is suffering from serious injuries and his friends are very shaken up.
"We need people to come forward and I am keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, knows who is involved or has any information."
