Police are appealing for witnesses and information after nearly £12,000 worth of vehicles, equipment, trailers, bikes, weapons and fuel were stolen from a farm at Kington, near Flyford Flavell, South Worcestershire.

Officers believe that anyone using the local roads near Little Ashdene Farm between 1800hrs on 29th December and 0800hrs on 30th December, when the burglary occurred, may have seen a green Land-Rover Discovery towing one trailer and a second, unknown, vehicle towing the second.

"Even at night, the Discovery pulling a substantial twin-axled trailer carrying a JCB mini-digger - and probably a number of other items - and another vehicle towing a trailer carrying a quad-bike will have been very noticeable," said a police spokesman.

Items taken include:

  • £4,000 JCB mini-digger
  • £2,500 Yamaha quad-bike
  • £2,000 green Land-Rover Discovery - registration P938 BCP
  • £1,500 twin-axle trailer with outboard wheels and red mudguards
  • £1,000 trailer with aluminium floor and front ratchet - registration N149 FBP
  • £600 set of four Shockwave mountain-bikes
  • £160 pair of air-rifles - Webley Oman and Wire Arch - both with telescopes
  • £90 store of agricultural (red) diesel fuel [200 litres]

The mini-digger was already on the twin-axle trailer attached to the Discovery.

The quad-bike was on the second, specially-designed trailer, which was found abandoned - without the quad-bike - near a lay-by at Elmley Castle at approximately 0915 hours today (31st December).

Anyone who believes they saw anything that will help the police enquiry, including noticing items matching the descriptions suddenly appearing elsewhere, is urged to call police on 0300 333 3000.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
