Northumbria Police is trying to trace the owner of a violin found in a stolen car.
A Vauxhall Zafira was stolen from a house in the Winlaton area of Gateshead on February 11 and found abandoned in the Cowgate area of Newcastle on February 13.
When officers searched the vehicle they found a violin and are now keen to trace its owner.
PC Steve Brown said:
"The violin was recovered from inside a stolen car on Friday February 13 in Newcastle.
"The car had been stolen on Wednesday February 11, so the violin may well have been taken within those few days."
Anyone with information about the violin should contact PC Steve Brown on 03456 043 043, ext. 64125 or 64197
