Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered injuries to his right eye when he was assaulted in Andover town centre.

The man was found by police in London Street at around 4.20am on Saturday, October 18.

Prior to police arrival, passers by reported seeing the 25-year-old man from Over Wallop, in the Eastern Avenue, East Street area of Andover.

Due to the extent of his injuries, the man was taken by ambulance staff to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester, where he was kept in overnight.
