£40,000 cannabis farm discovered in basement: Brackenbury Road, Fulwood

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £40,000 was seized as police searched a property in Fulwood.

111plants - a mixture of young, immature plants and larger plants - were found at the terraced property on Brackenbury Road at around 10.15am today (Monday 3 October).

The plants were in the basement of the property along with a lighting and hydroponic set-up.

Det Insp Keith Lee said:

"We are committed to taking action against drugs.

"We act on all intelligence we receive and I would urge residents to work with us in our fight against drugs by telling us about any suspicious activity.

"I would appeal to anyone with any information about this cannabis factory to contact us.

"I would be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any unusual activity in the area in recent weeks - in particular last Thursday evening when we received a report of some suspicious vehicles in the area."

If you have concerns about drugs, you can report it to the police on 0845 1 25 35 45.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

NOTE: a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a cannabis plant.

He remains in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
