100 days since Claudia Lawrence was last seen, police statement: York

Marking the 100 days since Claudia Lawrence was last seen a statement has been issued from the Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Ray Galloway:

"Despite the fact that it is now 100 days since Claudia Lawrence was last known to be alive and well, the investigation team stands foursquare with Claudia's family in terms of our shared determination to find out how and why she has disappeared.

"The investigation into Claudia's suspected murder continues to progress and I would like to thank the hundreds of people who, by sharing information with the police, have helped the tenacious and determined investigation team to move forward.

"It remains my belief that Claudia met, or was picked up by, a person that she knew and trusted.

"Subsequently, our focus remains on those with whom she had, in recent years, been involved in a close relationship or, at the very least, someone who she was likely to trust and have confidence in.

"To this end, I renew my appeal for information in this regard.

"The provision of such information has already been of significant benefit to the investigation team, however, a complex picture needs to be completed.

"Finally, in terms of my appeal to anybody who has been involved in a relationship with Claudia, or who supects anybody of such a relationship.

"The opportunity to speak to me in confidence is very much a perishable one.

"I would urge any such person to act quickly and to contact the investigation team as soon as possible."
