23-year-old victim assaulted after confronting thieves, CCTV issued: Clock Tower, Leicester

Officers have released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to following an incident at the Clock Tower, Leicester city centre.

The incident took place at 1.15am on Thursday December 22, 2011.

The 23-year-old victim was assaulted when he confronted three men of having taken a bottle of cleaning fluid from nearby premises.

The victim sustained a minor injury to his face which did not require hospital treatment.

The first offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged 21-22
  • 5ft 7" tall
  • slim build
  • clean-shaven
  • short brown hair
  • wearing brown jeans and a white shirt

The second offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • 5ft 9" tall
  • aged 21-22
  • clean-shaven
  • short brown hair
  • wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt

The third offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • 5ft 9" tall
  • aged 21-22
  • clean-shaven
  • short brown hair
  • wearing blue jeans

All three men left in the direction of the market.

PC Chris Sherwin, the investigating officer, said:

"This incident happened a few days before Christmas when there could have been more people than usual out celebrating.

"Any information, no matter how small, could help with our enquiries.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen three men fitting these descriptions close to the Clock Tower to contact us."
