Appeal after armed bank robber escapes with cash, CCTV issued: Lloyds/TSB, Carlton

Police have launched a fresh appeal for information relating to a bank robbery.

It happened around 10.05am on Friday 16 December 2011, at the Lloyds TSB branch in Carlton Hill, Carlton.

A man approached a cashier, and passed over a note demanding cash and claiming he was armed.

The suspect made off with a large quantity of notes.

No one was injured.

Detectives are still keen to trace a man pictured on CCTV (see right) just prior to the robbery.

A police spokesperson said:

"The offender claimed he was armed before escaping with money.

"While the cashier was uninjured, they were obviously left extremely shaken by the experience.

"We need to find whoever did this, to ensure it doesn't happen again.

"The man in the footage is still yet to come forward, and we remain keen to speak to anyone who knows who he is."

The suspect is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged 30 to 40
  • 6ft tall
  • short, dark hair
  • distinctive sideburns and stubble

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
