Police in Stirling are appealing for information after a church in the town was vandalised.
The incident occurred between 9am on Thursday 6th and 9am on Friday 7th of May at St Mary Church inĀ Upper Bridge Street, Stirling.
Staff from the church discovered excrement smeared across the front steps of the church and the arm of the effigy on a crucifix had been ripped off.
The cost of damage is not yet known.
Constable Anton Stephenson said:
"This type of crime can have a serious impact on the local community and can be very distressing to the people who use the church.
"We urge anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact us as soon as possible."
