Detectives investigating the attempted abduction of a two-year-old girl in Blackpool have arrested a man.
The 31-year-old from the town has been arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction and remains in police custody.
Police are continuing their hunt for a man who attempted to abduct a 2-year-old girl in Blackpool.
The incident took place on Thursday 30th June at around 6:40pm when a man entered the back garden of a house on Erdington Road.
Using a knife he slashed a children's trampoline before attempting to take the two-year-old girl.
Early indications showed that there were two possible incidents however the St Heliers Road incident has been ruled out.
The man arrested on Thursday has been charged with offences not connected to attempted child abduction.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Barrow said,
"This is an incredibly serious offence and the man responsible is still outstanding.
"I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the Erdington Road area between 5pm and 7pm to come forward and contact police."

Geographic Chief Inspector Sue Cawley said,
"Patrols have been stepped up in the area and our neighbourhood policing teams are working within the communities to reassure the public.
"An incident room has been opened and we have a large number of dedicated and experienced officers working on this investigation in a bid to catch the person responsible at the earliest opportunity.
"We would ask parents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
"Should any residents have any concerns they can contact us or speak to their local officer."
