Detectives are still appealing for information after a murder in Harrow - and the victim can now be named.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 02.20hrs on Wednesday 13 January to an address in Station Road, Harrow re: a man with head injuries.

A 35-year-old Tamil - Ugarajan Swaminathan - was taken to The Royal Free Hospital where he died at 12.20hrs.

A post-mortem gave cause of death as severe head inquiries.

An incident room has opened under Acting Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson (HSCC).

Police believe Mr Swaminathan was at his flat with friends, and residents from other flats within the building, when there was a disturbance resulting in the victim receiving his injuries.

Suspects left the premises following the assault and did not return.

A friend of Mr Swaminathan alerted the ambulance service when he discovered him.

A/DCI Lawson said:

"We are in the process of tracing those present during the disturbance and would appeal to anyone who has information, and to those who were present, to come forward."

+ At about 20.40hrs on 13 January a man [A - in his 30s] was arrested near the scene and remains in custody at a north London Police Station.

At approx. 20.30hrs on 14 January a man [B - 32 ys] was arrested in the street at Ealing Road, Wembley, and also remains in custody at a separate north London Police Station.  

Police are appealing for information following the death of a 35 year old man in Harrow in the early hours of Wednesday 13th January 2010.

Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 02.20hrs on 13th January to 33b Station Road, Harrow and found the victim, a 35 year old Tamil man suffering from severe head injuries.

He was taken to The Royal Free Hospital where he died at 12.20hrs the same day.

A post mortem examination will be held at Northwick Park Mortuary at 16.00hrs Thursday 14th January.

Officers believe that they know the identity of the victim but formal identification has yet to take place.

Next of kin have been informed.

Police believe the victim was at his home address (33b Station Road) with his friends and fellow residents when there was a disturbance resulting in the victim receiving his injuries.

The suspects left the premises following the assault and did not return.

The victim's friend alerted London Ambulance Service when he discovered the victim.

A man in his 30's was arrested near the scene at about 20.40hrs on 13th January and is in custody at a North London Police Station.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC) officer leading the investigation said:

"We are in the process of tracing those present during the disturbance and would appeal to anyone who has information or to those who were present to come forward."
