Body of Lithuanian national discovered: Carnarvon Road, Stratford E15

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the murder of a man in Stratford E15.

Police were alerted by a member of the public at 06.50hrs on Saturday 31October to the body of a man at an address in Carnarvon Road.

Police and LAS attended and found the body of Paulius Riepsa [23.05.84-25ys] a Lithuanian national of no fixed abode.

A post mortem carried out at Walthamstow Mortuary on Sunday 1 November gave he cause of death as a head injury.

Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command investigate [HSCC].

An incident room has been set up under DI Mark Lawson at Hendon.

DI Lawson said:

"The address where Mr Riepsa was found is a known squat, frequented predominantly by the Lithuanian community.

"We believe Mr Riepsa was staying at the address at the time of his death.

"I appeal to anyone who knows the victim, has visited the property, or has any details about any events which may have led to his death to contact us and assist this investigation." Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8358 0200.
