'Bogus gardener' warning, e-fit: Hamworthy

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a distraction burglary in the town - with an e-fit being released.

The incident happened between 11.30am and 1.05pm on Thursday 10 November 2011, at an address along Lulworth Avenue in Hamworthy where two men entered a property engaging the occupant in a conversation about gardening work.

Nothing appears to have been stolen.

The first offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged early twenties
  • slim build
  • round baby face
  • very blonde hair with a flicked up fringe

The second offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged early forties
  • five feet six inches tall
  • mousey coloured hair
  • larger build
  • messy appearance

Detective Constable Richard Skinner, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said:

"I am now in the position to release an e-fit of one of the men who approached the pensioner.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual at the time in Lulworth Avenue to contact police as soon as possible.

"I also need to hear from anyone who recognises either the picture or description of these men."

Anyone with information to call police on 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
