Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information to come forward after distraction burglars stole money from two elderly people in the Hamworthy area of the town - with e-fits of the offenders being released.
Between 5pm and 6pm on Monday 12 December 2011, two men purporting to be water board officials gained entry to two properties along The Old Rope Walk and stole cash from both victims.
Detective Constable Mark Colborne, of Bournemouth CID, said:
"On both occasions a man asked the victims - each aged in their eighties - to test the taps in their kitchens.
"While this was taking place, a second man has conducted a search of the address.
"Following further enquiries, I am now able to release e-fits of the two offenders and I am appealing for anyone who recognises these two men to call Dorset Police urgently.
"I am also appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident to call me - in confidence - as soon as possible."

"I would like to remind members of the public, especially over the festive period, to be vigilant and to always ask for identification - a genuine caller will always be happy to assist."
