Bogus removal man escapes empty handed, e-fit issued: Colemans Hatch, Hartfield

East Sussex Priority Crime Team have released an e-fit of a man who was disturbed during a burglary at a house in Colemans Hatch, Hartfield, near Forest Row back in September.

The suspect is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged mid 40s
  • 5'7" to 6' tall
  • average build
  • pale skin
  • wearing a dark grey/khaki coloured canvas brimmed hat, a grey T-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers
  • carrying a black rucksack with reflective stickers on both straps

Detective Constable Mark Davis from the priority team said:

"We are keen to trace this man who boldly entered the detached property in broad daylight and was disturbed by the owner who was in the process of moving and at first thought he was one of the removal men.

"Fortunately the home owner was not hurt and the suspect fled empty handed.

"We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the suspect."

Please call police on 0845 60 70 999.
