Bogus workers escape with £200 cash from 81-year-old, e-fit issued: Langley

Thames Valley Police has released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a distraction burglary in Slough.

The incident took place around 10am on Thursday (8/12), in Hillary Road, Langley, when an 81-year-old woman received a knock at her front door.

A man claimed he had been sent to repair a fence and a second man was seen standing on the pavement.

The resident closed the front door and met the first man in the rear garden where a sum of £200 was asked for, but before it was handed over, the victim said she was going to make a telephone call to verify who the two men claimed to be.

The man then snatched the cash from her hand before running off.

The first offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged 30 to 35
  • medium build
  • 5ft 4ins tall
  • clean shaven or slightly stubbly face
  • light brown hair
  • English accent
  • wearing yellow jacket possibly fluorescent, with a denim jacket beneath, dark navy blue jeans, black boots and a light grey or pale blue cap

The second offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged 24 to 28
  • 6ft tall
  • long thin face
  • light brown hair
  • wearing a light blue jumper, pale blue jeans and white plimsolls

Anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit or has any other information which may assist police with their investigation is asked to contact Det Con Alex Gresty via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
