Burglars target vulnerable man twice in three days: Spencer Court, Blackpool

Police are appealing for help to trace a man suspected of committing two burglaries at the same Blackpool property within days of each other.

The flat at Spencer Court, which is off Talbot Road, was targeted twice within three days.

The first burglary was committed between 10am and 10.30am on Friday 30 October. 

A man walked into the property belonging to a 70-year-old man, causing him to stumble and fall to the floor.

The man then searched the victim's pockets whilst he was on the floor and searched the pockets of a coat that was hung up, stealing money and some cigarettes.

The second offence was committed between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on Sunday 1 November, when a different man in a high-visibility jacket approached the flat saying he was there to read the water meter. 

The offender was in the company of another man who the victim recognised as the previous offender.

He challenged the pair before they pushed him on to a lounge chair and stole cash from him.

DC Liam Davy from the Burglary and Robbery Team said:

"We are keen to trace the men responsible for these attacks on this vulnerable man.

"I would urge anyone with any information to contact us."

The first man is described as:

• white
• around 173cms tall
• late twenties
• ginger hair and long ginger sideburns
• wearing a black bobble hat, white and red lumber jacket, jeans and blue shoes

There is no description available of the second offender.
