As part of an intelligence led investigation by the Garda National Drugs Unit and local Gardaí from Carrick-On-Shannon with assistance provided by the Garda Air Support Unit two semi-detached houses at Drumod, Co. Leitrim were searched today (25/3/11)

Both houses have been adapted as Cannabis cultivation sites. 400 plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 were seized. (Subject to analysis)

There is a sophisticated lighting, irrigation and ventilation system in place.

A male aged 25 and a female aged 18 have been arrested and are detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 at Carrick-On-Shannon Garda Station.
