Images of two men police would like to speak to in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a car in Harpurhey have been released.

The Fiat Punto was taken at about 10pm on 14 September 2009, from the Harpurhey Precinct car park on Upper Conran Street.

Two men approached a 28-year-old man and threatened him with a knife, demanding the keys to the car.

They punched him two or three times before driving off in it.

The offenders are described as:

  • white males
  • aged in their mid 20s
  • wearing dark clothing
  • one slim build
  • one medium build

Police Constable Tom Munnery said:

"While the victim did not need hospital treatment, he was left badly shaken.

"We are now in the position to release CCTV images of two men which have become available to us.

"We are asking members of the public to look closely at them and tell us if they recognise the men."
