Officers from Hinckley local policing unit are appealing for witnesses after a Chinese takeaway was broken into in Newbold Verdon.

The incident took place sometime between 12.30am and 12.30pm on Friday (February 25) at the Lotus House in Cadle Street, Newbold Verdon when the premises was broken into and cash was stolen.

PC Tim Wilson is investigating the incident, he said:

"Although the premises is situated within a residential area in a small town there is a possibility that someone may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area.

"Maybe you were travelling home from a night out and saw someone or a vehicle and thought nothing of it at the time, even the slightest detail could help us with the investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 2945 Tim Wilson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2945.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
