Dustbin set alight and cars damaged outside home: Maidenbower

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident were a dustbin was set alight and two cars damaged on Wheeler Road, Maidenbower, Crawley last night (Sunday, 10 March).

Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue attended the scene just after 10.30pm.

The dustbin fire had already been put out by a neighbour and luckily there was only minimal damage to the front door of the property.

However, two cars parked outside the house had offensive graffiti scratched onto their bonnets.

A suspect is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged 20
  • 5'11" to 6' tall
  • proportionate build
  • short hair
  • wearing a fitted white T-shirt, long shorts and white trainers

Police believe this was a deliberate act of arson and criminal damage and are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who may know who is responsible for this incident to please contact DC Andy Wolstenholme of West Sussex CID on 0845 60 70 999.
