Falabella miniature horse stolen from allotment: East View, Boldon Colliery

The incident happened between 12pm, on Sunday, November 1 and 12pm, on Tuesday, November 3, at an allotment at East View, Boldon Colliery.

The offender entered the allotment before making off with the animal.

The three-year-old horse is described as:

  • a Falabella breed
  • coloured brown and white
  • his hooves are white in colour
  • he has red and brown patches on his neck and rear legs
  • a brown tail with a few white hairs

Officers are asking anyone who has any information about the theft to come forward.

Police have stepped up patrols in and around the allotments in response to this incident and other recent thefts.

Neighbourhood officer, PC Simon Marshall, said:

"Extra patrols are being carried out in and around the area and we will also be offering crime prevention advice to allotment holders in relation to security at their premises.

"We are also working with our partners to see what we can do to help allotment owners make their plots more secure."
