Gardai in Mitchelstown are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at Corracunna, Mitchelstown (old Dublin Road out of Mitchelstown).

A female died as a result of her injuries.

At approx. 20.30hrs on the 1st September 2010 a female was found collapsed beside her bicycle, witnesses and Gardai performed CPR, however the female was pronounced dead at scene.

She was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem was carried out this morning 2nd Sept 2010.

The road was closed and subsequently re-opened.
