Detectives from North-West Leicestershire local policing unit are appealing for public help after a woman in her 60s was the victim of an aggravated burglary in Coalville.
The incident took place at about 9pm on Wednesday November 30 in the Blackwood area when two men entered the victim's home and threatened her before stealing a purse.
The blue faux leather purse contained cash.
The victim was not hurt during the incident.
Both suspects had their faces covered during the incident.
One of them has been described as being of large build, 5'9" tall, he spoke with a Northern accent and was wearing gloves.
The second suspect was of slim build and was wearing a grey shirt underneath a black top.
Detective Constable Paul Davies is investigating the incident, he said:
"This was a frightening incident for the victim in her own home. The perpetrators of this crime had no regard for the effect their actions would have on the victim.
"We have been carrying out enquiries locally since the incident was reported to us in a bid to identify potential witnesses and are now appealing for the wider public to contact us
"Were you in the Blackwood area during the evening of Wednesday November 30 and did you see anyone acting suspiciously?
"Have you seen a purse similar to the one in the picture discarded in the area?
"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help with our enquiries."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 291 Paul Davies on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 0291.
