Around 0705 hrs on Tuesday 7 July, a shopkeeper in his 50's, and a 71-year-old customer were within the S H Newsagent, Shettleston when a man came into the shop.

The man threatened the shopkeeper with a knife and demanded money from him.

The man then ran out of the shop with a small sum of cash leaving the shop keeper and the customer uninjured but extremely shocked.

The suspect was seen running in the direction of Wellshot Road.

He is described as:

  • white
  • early 20's
  • thin build
  • local accent
  • wearing a grey hooded top with the hood tightly tied

Detective Sergeant Eddie Waye at Shettleston CID would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect hanging around the area prior to the shop being robbed or anyone who may have seen them running off afterwards.

CCTV from in and around the area is being checked, but would encourage anyone with any information to contact myself at Shettleston CID on 0141 532 4836. Alternatively calls can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
