Police are appealing for witnesses after lead thieves targetted Louth cemetery on London Road twice in as many days.
The first attack took place overnight between Wednesday and Thursday and lead was stolen from the roof of the St Aethelheard's Orthodox Chapel.
The following night, offenders stole lead from the Western Chapel at the cemetery.
Crime Prevention Officer, PC Nic Hanson, said,
"With the current high value of scrap metal, lead thefts continue to be an issue of concern but it is particularly appalling that thieves would enter a special place such as a graveyard and desecrate a place of worship for the sake of making a quick profit."
