A man had a beer bottle smashed over his head during an attack at a south Manchester pub.
It happened at about 00.30am on 20 September 2009 at the Hogshead pub on Wilmslow Road, Didsbury.
Police have now released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack.
The victim, 25, was walking out of the pub when he got involved in a verbal altercation with one of the offenders.
It turned physical and the victim was attacked.
The offender's friend helped tackle the victim to the floor, where a beer bottle was smashed over the back of his head.
Luckily the victim was able to protect his head using his hands, leaving him with a one-inch cut to his left hand and a small cut to his head.
Police are now appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the picture to come forward.

Detective Constable Chris Broad, from West Didsbury CID, said:
"The man responsible for this savage and violent assault needs to be brought to justice - he needs to understand that his actions could have seriously injured the victim and that the consequence could be a lengthy spell behind bars.
"I would appeal to any customers who were in the pub or outside at the time who may have witnessed this attack to come forward.
"Also, if you recognise the man in the picture, please speak to us - in confidence if needed."
