Man becomes abusive and threatening to driver after bike barred from bus, CCTV: Lower Clapton, E5

Police are appealing for information following an incident in which a male smashed a glass bottle on the window of a bus in Hackney.

Officers from the joint Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London Safer Transport Command Workplace Violence Unit are investigating the incident, which occurred on Saturday 15 October at about 3:30hrs on a route N38 bus on Lower Clapton Road, E5.

The incident involved the suspect becoming abusive and threatening to the bus driver after he told the suspect he could not board with a bicycle.

The suspect got off the bus and smashed a glass bottle onto the driver's window before making off.

The suspect is described as:

  • anĀ Oriental male
  • wearing a light coloured cap and dark jacket
  • white mountain bike

Officers have made enquiries to locate him and are now releasing his image to the public in the hope that they will provide information on his whereabouts.
