Further to Karl Hague appearing at Rotherham Magistrates' Court today, (Wednesday, 7 December) on an aggravated burglary charge, the other five men arrested after the disturbance on Godric Drive, Brinsworth have been bailed by police.

The three local men in their twenties, arrested on suspicion of the murder of Justin Hague and the two remaining men arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary have been released on police bail until after Christmas.

Karl Hague appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' this morning and was remanded in custody.

Meanwhile South Yorkshire Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the stabbing of 40-year-old Justin Hague at around 10pm on Saturday, 3 December.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Fenwick said:

"We're piecing together information to get a full picture of what happened that night leading up to Justin Hague's murder.

"At this stage we think the stabbing was the result of an accumulation of events that night between two groups in the Rotherham area.

"This was a targeted incident, so we do not believe members of the public are at risk."

Brinsworth Dad Justin Hague was found at nearby Godric Green on Saturday night suffering from several stab wounds.

He was taken by ambulance to Rotherham District General Hospital.

Doctors tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead at around 11.24pm.

Police in Brinsworth continue to patrol the area to offer reassurance to the community.

The man who died in Brinsworth, Rotherham at the weekend was 40-year-old local man, Justin Hague.

"We are all totally devastated about Justin's death.

"It seems a senseless and pointless act which has robbed me of my husband and father to our children.

"He was a loving and kind husband and his mum has lost a loving son.

"I cannot believe he has gone, I cannot believe he won't be here with us this Christmas."

South Yorkshire Police have arrested two men on suspicion of murder and three others on suspicion of aggravated burglary following an incident on Saturday night in Brinsworth, Rotherham.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at Godric Drive shortly before 10pm on 3 December.

It later emerged that a 40-year-old local man had suffered several puncture wounds.

He was found nearby at Godric Green and taken by ambulance to Rotherham District General Hospital.

Doctors tried to save him, but the man was pronounced dead around 11.24pm on Saturday.

A post mortem examination, to establish the cause of his death, was due to take place at Sheffield's Medico Legal Centre.

Scenes of crime officers were called out on Saturday night to examine the area.

Meanwhile detectives are questioning those arrested - two local men in their 20s regarding the suspected murder and three men, also from the local area, about suspected aggravated burglary.
