Gardai, officers from Revenues Customs Service and Environmental Protection Agency officers from Monaghan County Council have uncovered an illegal dump and an illegal diesel laundering plant near Cootehill, Co.Cavan.

In an operation lead by Gardai, a premises at Reban, Shantonagh, Cootehill was searched this morning the 3rd of September 2010.

The operation uncovered an illegal dump as well as a diesel laundering plant.

The area is sealed off and a forensic technical examination of the scene in underway.

There were no arrests and the operation is ongoing.
