Appeal for witnesses after six-month-old chocolate Labrador is injured
Surrey Police is appealing for information after Bracken, a six-month-old chocolate coloured Labrador and his owner were injured after an attack by another dog in Nonsuch Park, Epsom.
The incident took place at the park which is located along London Road, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday, 14 January after the dog was playing with others in the park.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Joanna Clarke, said:
"Bracken was happily playing with other dogs in the park while his owner supervised.
"When Bracken was called back by his owner, another dog, believed to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or similar breed attacked him.
"Bracken's owner with the help of friends managed to break him free from the other dog but she sustained puncture wounds to her right hand as a result and the incident which has obviously left them both shaken and upset.
"I would like to speak with anyone who was in the park around this time as they may have vital information about this incident which will help us with our investigation and bring those responsible to justice."
Bracken needed treatment from a vet for his injuries and his owner attended Epsom General Hospital for treatment to her injuries.
