Diamond rings, cufflinks, earrings, pendants and a distinctive engraved squashed wedding band are amongst the items which police have not been able to return to their rightful owners despite two years of investigation.

They were seized as part of a burglary investigation in Basildon in 2009, and despite extensive research, detectives have never found their owners.

DC Neil Hudson said:

"There is a large amount of jewellery here and some of the pieces are obviously sentimental.

"We suspect they may have been stolen in the Basildon area back in 2009, so please look at the pictures and contact us if you think they are yours.

"We try every avenue possible to find the rightful owners of recovered property, but two years on we still haven't found them.

"They could have been stolen from a number of burglaries, even as many as ten, so please cast your mind back to what was stolen if you were a victim and call us."

If you think any of the jewellery is yours, please contact DC Neil Hudson at the Basildon CID target team on 101.
