At about 11pm on Thursday 28 April 2011, the 47-year-old man was in his rapid response vehicle on Brooks Drive, Baguley when a concrete block was thrown through the window.

The paramedic got out of the vehicle and was confronted by two youths who hit him in the face with a brick before running off towards Broomwood Estate.

He suffered a minor facial injury.

The offenders are both described as:

  • white males
  • agedĀ 16-years-old
  • 5' 9" tall
  • slim build
  • wearing hooded jumpers

Detective Inspector Kevin Marriot, said:

"It is inexcusable to attack anyone in this way but to target an emergency worker defies belief.

"The offenders just might need the emergency services one day and I hope they don't find assistance delayed because the person sent to help them has been subjected to an unproved and violent assault.

"If anyone knows those responsible for this deplorable attack please contact us in confidence."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 6153
